The bulk of the records in this collection are from Mr. Oscarson's career from 1936-1947. the largest number of items are various fiscal records, correspondence, convention programs, and other miscellaneous material related to his activities with the NWMA. Most of the remainder consists of correspondence and reports prepared by him during his tenure with the WPB and CPA. Nothing is included from his pre-Spokane activities nor from his time with the BLM. There are no personal papers. Some information is included for several mining properties, Mr. Oscarson's involvement is not explained, but may have come from his activities as a freelance consultant.

Mr. Oscarson was deeply involved with the Northwest Mining Association (NWMA) from 1936, serving as a director, secretary and president (1939-1940). Starting in 1943, he served with the War Production Board (WPB) and the National Resources Planning Board in Spokane.
